ABSTRACT
NAFLD is a liver disease in which fat built-up in the liver. It primarily progressed to Steatosis and NASH. NASH, also known as non-alcoholic Steato hepatitis, which is more severe form of the disease. Those who consume little or no alcohol experience NAFLD. Methodology: This is a prospective observational study that involves 98 participants. Evaluating the socioeconomic variables and potential preventive interventions that impact the development of NAFLD is its main goal. Results: We conducted the study with 98 patients. There was no statistically significant difference in gender distribution of the 98 patients, with 54.08% of them being male and 45.91$ of female. The patients were split up into five age groups for the study: 31–40, 41–50, 51–60, 61–70, and 71–80. The majority of patients, or 37 out of them (37.75%), were between the ages of 41 and 50. next, age groups 51-60,61- 70, and 71-80 years old are the greatest number of patients with (19.38%) and just 2 patients (2.04%) respectively. This indicates that middleaged and older individuals were the majority affected by NAFLD. Of the 98 patients, 19.38% (19 patients) had a BMI between 18.5 and 25, 57.14% (56 patients) had a BMI between 25 and 30, and 23 patients had a BMI higher than 30. In addition, out of the 98 patients, 32 had regular checkups, 49 had occasional checkups, and 17 had no checkups at all. Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that socioeconomic variables impact the course of NAFLD and that these variables ought to be managed in order to manage diseases linked to NAFLD (metabolic syndromes).
Keywords: NASH, also known as non-alcoholic Steato hepatitis, which is more severe form of the disease.
