ABSTRACT
Introduction: Between 5.5 and 19.9% of women of reproductive age suffer with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), a multifactorial illness and common endocrinopathy of hyperandrogenism (HA). It is challenging to identify a single element that should be taken into account when managing PCOS because it involves a series of feedback loops in the endocrine system. A change in lifestyle has been shown to be effective in improving the reproductive and metabolic problems of PCOD and has been recommended as first-line treatment. The study intends to find the effects of high intensity interval training in college girls with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Methodology: 20 subjects clinically diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Patients were recruited for the study who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. All cases were evaluated with PCOS questionnaire and the pre-test evaluation was recorded. Then they were divided into two groups under randomized selection as control group (n=10) and experimental group (n=10). Theyunderwent 8 weeks of intervention with high intensity interval training after which the post-test measures were done. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between pre and post-test levels of high intensity interval training in college girls with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Conclusion: The objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of high intensity interval training in college girls with polycystic ovarian syndrome. The result showed that there was a significant difference between pre and post - test levels of high intensity interval training in college girls with polycystic ovarian syndrome.
