MEDICINAL PROPERTIES OF MORINGA OLEIFERA-A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Native to the Himalayan foothills of South Asia, Moringa oleifera can be found from sea level to 1,400 meters on recent alluvial ground or next to riverbeds and streams in areas ranging from northeastern Pakistan to northern West Bengal State in India and northeastern Bangladesh. It may grow up to 1400 meters above sea level. In Assam, Bengal, and the Indian peninsula, it is frequently grown close to homes. It is a coppice that grows widely. Known for its many uses, broad adaptability, and simplicity of establishment, it is also referred to as the mother's best friend, the horseradish tree, the drumstick tree, the ben oil tree, and the miracle tree. Its leaves, pods, and flowers are nutrient-dense and beneficial to both people and animals. Worldwide, moringa has been used as a traditional medicine for the following conditions: cholera, glandular, swelling, headaches, conjunctivitis, cough, diarrhoea, eye and ear infections, fever, hysteria, joint pain, pimples, psoriasis, respiratory disorders, scurvy, semen deficiency, sore throat, sprain, tuberculosis, intestinal worms, lactation, diabetes, and pregnancy. A review of Sahajna's (Moringa oleifera) therapeutic qualities has been attempted in this paper. In this paper, an effort has been made to review the medicinal properties if Sahajna (Moringa oleifera).
