ABSTRACT
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurological disorder that primarily affects older adults, resulting in cognitive decline, memory loss, and behavioral changes. Characterized by the accumulation of amyloid-beta plaques and tau protein tangles in the brain, AD disrupts neural communication and triggers cell death, particularly in areas responsible for memory and cognition. In response, research has increasingly explored natural compounds from medicinal plants as potential adjunct therapies. Plants such as Ginkgo biloba, Curcuma longa (turmeric), Ashwagandha (withania somnifera), possess neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, and examines the potential benefits of specific medicinal plants as alternative or complementary approaches for managing Alzheimer’s disease.
