ABSTRACT
Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common types of oral cancer which primarily originates from the epithelial lining. It usually affects people over the age of 50 but is relatively rare in individuals under 40 years old and can still occur, with less frequency in that age group. Squamous cell carcinoma of the buccal mucosa is an aggressive malignant tumour due to its rapid growth , deep penetration and high recurrence rates. The present case report describes a case of OSCC involving left buccal mucosa of a 46 year old male patient and the literature is reviewed.
Keywords: oral squamous cell carcinoma, buccal carcinoma, malignancy.
