ABSTRACT
Background: HIV/AIDS continues to disproportionately affect disadvantaged populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with limited access to healthcare. These groups face significant social, economic, and psychological barriers that hinder effective management and adherence to HIV/AIDS treatment. Addressing these challenges requires integrating innovative nursing models with emergency care approaches to cater to the unique needs of these populations. Such frameworks combine physical, cultural, environmental, and behavioral dimensions of care to improve health outcomes and provide rapid responses to acute health crises. Aim: This study explores the application of innovative nursing and emergency care models in improving HIV/AIDS management for vulnerable populations. It evaluates the effectiveness of these integrated models in enhancing patient outcomes, promoting treatment adherence, reducing stigma, and addressing health inequities through a review of contemporary literature and case studies. Methods: A comprehensive review of current nursing and emergency care models, clinical research, and applications was conducted. The analysis incorporated both qualitative and quantitative studies, focusing on frameworks such as the Health Belief Model, Social-Ecological Model, and emergency response protocols in HIV/AIDS care. Results: Findings reveal that integrated nursing and emergency care models emphasizing holistic care, cultural competence, and rapid crisis intervention significantly enhance patient engagement, treatment adherence, and health outcomes among at-risk populations. These models also contribute to stigma reduction, improved acute care management, and better handling of comorbid conditions. Conclusion: Integrating nursing and emergency care models is essential for advancing HIV/AIDS care in vulnerable populations. By addressing the multifaceted psychosocial and medical challenges and providing rapid crisis response, these models offer a robust framework for improving patient outcomes and reducing health disparities.
