ABSTRACT
Malnutrition, which includes both undernutrition and overnutrition, is a major global health concern that effects both public and individual health. People of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds are impacted, and it lowers quality of life, impairs physical and cognitive development, and contributes to the emergence of numerous chronic diseases. Inadequate nutrient intake, or undernutrition, weakens immunity, makes people more prone to illnesses, and raises death rates, especially in disadvantaged groups. Conversely, overnutrition leads to obesity and associated disorders like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular illnesses. It is frequently linked to high calorie intake and poor nutritional quality. The intricate connection between hunger and health consequences emphasizes the necessity of all-encompassing approaches to deal with its manifestations. In order to avoid, early detection and intervention are essential. Fighting malnutrition requires public health programs that emphasize food security, nutrition education, and access to wholesome meals. Furthermore, increasing nutritional status and general health outcomes requires tackling socio-economic issues like poverty and education. This urges international efforts to lower the frequency of malnutrition and lessen its detrimental impact on health, emphasizing the significance of acknowledging it as a significant health factor.
