ABSTRACT
Fistula-in-ano is a challenging anorectal condition characterized by chronic infection, abscess formation, and recurring discharges. The conventional surgical methods, including fistulectomy and fistulotomy, often pose a high risk of recurrence and incontinence. Ksharasutra, a unique Ayurvedic para-surgical procedure, offers a promising alternative for the effective management of complex fistula-in-ano. This article explores the mechanism, clinical efficacy, and scientific validation of Ksharasutra therapy in treating complex fistulas, demonstrating its role in modern proctology.
