Inchara P.* and Rachana H. V.
ABSTRACT
Background: Gynaecological disorder is a growing concern in today’s era, affecting approximately 10-15% worldwide. It is often attributed to Beeja Dushti, Artava Kshaya, Agnimandya and Apana Vata Vikruti. Basti, a specialized Panchakarma therapy, plays a crucial role in addressing these underlying imbalances and enhancing fertility. Case Report: This is a case of a 29-year-old woman diagnosed with Vandhyatva due to Artava Kshaya, who had been trying to conceive for the past six years. She had an irregular menstrual cycle since menarche, and was known case of PCOS since 5 years. Seeking Ayurvedic intervention, she underwent Shodhana and Shamana therapy for 6 months. Following the treatment, she experienced a regular menstrual cycle and ovulation for the past 3 months, indicating a significant improvement in her reproductive health. Conclusion: This case highlights the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment, particularly Basti therapy, in managing Vata-related gynaecological disorders such as Artava Kshaya and anovulation. By pacifying Apana Vata, clearing Srotorodha, and nourishing the reproductive system, Basti therapy helped restore menstrual regularity, enhance ovarian function, and improve endometrial receptivity, thereby creating a favourable environment for conception. The holistic Ayurvedic approach, incorporating dietary modifications, lifestyle corrections, and Rasayana therapy, further supports reproductive health by strengthening Dhatus, balancing hormones, and detoxifying the body, making it an effective alternative for addressing menstrual irregularities and infertility.
