GLAUCOMA: DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT- A REVIEW ARTICLE

ABSTRACT

The term “glaucoma” covers a number of different eye conditions, all of which involve damage to the optic nerve. One common cause is that there is too much pressure inside the eye. Glaucoma is the leading cause of preventable blindness. Recent advances have seen a surge of new ideas and technologies to aid in the detection, treatment and further understanding of glaucoma. These technologies and advances are discussed to provide information on risk-factors, diagnosis and treatment. If ophthalmologist or optometrist detects glaucoma, early treatment can help prevent the loss of your vision.
