Evaluation of the Anti- Parkinson activity of fresh fruit juice of Malus domestica against haloperidol induced
Parkinsonism in wistar rats. Fresh fruit juice of Malus domestica was screened for anti-Parkinson's effect by using
behavioral method, haloperidol induced catalepsy at a dose of 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg. 1%CMC and L-dopa
were employed as control and standard groups respectively. Malus domestica at a dose of 400 mg/kg showed
maximal decrease in catalepsy as compared to both negative and positive control groups. Hence concluded that
fresh fruit juice of Malus domestica may be useful in Parkinson's disease.
