ABSTRACT
The emergence of new diseases and existing ones with no known cure in modern medicine has called for prompt alternative therapies. The history, research and clinical application of cellular and biological therapies has spanned decades and recorded merited successes. Backed with century old studies to post marketing surveillance, it is proven that these therapies are not only effective but also safe. Though allogeneic and autologous cell therapies have been used therapeutically, the use of xenogeneic biomolecular therapy has been tremendously underrated by modern conventional medicine. It is just the matter of time for the usage of cellular and biological therapies to be widened and made as one of the main stream treatment modalities. Current paper discusses some mechanisms of action and advantages of cell therapy with xenogeneic products. In particular, we highlight senolytic and anti-aging properties of cell therapy, its influence on cellular homeostasis and system of anti-oxidant protection.
Keywords: cell therapy, stem cells, precursor stem cells, mitochondria, senolylic, anti-aging, anti-oxidant protection, xenogeneic.
