MANAGEMENT OF PCOS WITH AYURVEDA

ABSTRACT

Commen female endocrine disorders affecting approximately 5 to 10% of women of reproductive age (12-45year old) and is throught to be one of the leading cause of female subfertility pcos is the imbalance in the women sex hormones estrogen and progesterone level that create many cystes in overy. The symptoms of pcos are related to menstrual disturbance and elevated levated of male hormones(androgens) and go to delay of normal menstruation (primary amenorrhea) and oligomenorrhoea and the abcence of menstruation for month then three month. There are no define for pocs exist and drugs currently ovulate to treat the disease have medicinal plant like ashoka, shatavari, kumara, vijaysar, gudmar etc for management of pcos. The review gathers research on various medicinal plant that have proven effective disease in ayurveda the above drugs are beneficial for problem among women of reproductive age group leading to endocrine dysfunction and multiple sign and symptoms they are providing comprehensive care by correcting the ama dosha(insulin levels) achieving koshta shuddhi and regulating tridoshas. by this menstruation is regularized and fertility is restored.
