PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION OF MAXILLARY ANTERIOR TEETH WITH LOOP CONNECTOR- A CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
Restoration of anterior missing tooth with diastema (spacing) poses many difficulties in restoration with limited treatment options. Due to increased edentulous space in mesio-distal dimension replacement of missing tooth with conventional fixed partial denture result in unnatural appearance. Other treatment options like implant supported prosthesis was also not possible due lack of availability of bone which is most commonly seen in anterior region. Here fixed partial denture with loop connector provide a acceptable and economical mean for management of missing anterior teeth with diastema. A male patient reported with chief complaint of missing anterior teeth due to accident. His past dental history revealed that midline spacing was present between his maxillary central incisors. So, patient wanted replacement of same amount of spacing as it was present before accident. Considering is esthetic requirement a treatment option of fixed partial denture with respect to 11, 12 and 21 with loop connector between 11 and 21. Connectors are the components that joins different parts of fixed partial denture. But with loop connectors proper emergence profile with maintenance of natural diastema can be achieved. So this clinical report described the process for fabricating a fixed partial denture with loop connectors for replacing missing maxillary central incisor with diastema.
