ABSTRACT
Prapoundrikadya ghrita[1] is a Polyherbal Ayurvedic preparation which is used for topical application in all types of wounds in ayurveda Prapoundrikadya ghrita is an extremely useful as wound healer as it possesses antimicrobial activity. It is also useful in various skin afflictions. This formulation chiefly contains the plants Prapoundrika, Manjistha, Yashtimadhu, Padmaka, and Haridra. It is commonly used in vranaropana, vednasthapana, Dahaprasamana, kandughnata, krimighnata This review explains the antimicrobial potential of each ingredient present in this polyherbal ayurvedic formulation and needs a scientific exploration so as to document its therapeutic effectiveness.This article herbs the researcher and practioner to explore more about this important ghrita kalpa.
