MORINGA OLEIFERA: AN EXHAUSTIVE SURVEY

ABSTRACT
Moringa oleifera, a star member of family Moringaceae, is widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions. It is a deciduous tree which grows upto a height of 10 metres. The fruits of the tree are used in making curries whereas leaves and barks are used to heal diseases. Its leaves have shown to be effective in several chronic conditions, including non-alcoholic liver disease, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, cancer, inflammation and many others. The present review throws light on its habit, habitat, growth, harvesting and its pharmacological applications.
