A REVIEW ON DIABETES MELLITUS

ABSTRACT
Diabetes Mellitus is a disorder in which there is increased the levels of glucose in the blood. Diabetes mellitus is caused by the deficiency of insulin production by the pancreas, or when the body can't viably utilize the insulin it produces. Diabetes Mellitus is a silent killer disease and affects millions of peoples worldwide. Hyperglycaemia, or raised glucose, is a typical impact of uncontrolled diabetes and after some time prompts serious harm to huge numbers of the body's frameworks, particularly the nerves and veins. This review articles basically focuses on Diabetes mellitus, its types, causes, prevalence, glucose metabolism, hormonal regulation and treatment of diabetes mellitus.
