LOWER EXTREMITY STRESS PATTERN & OVERUSE INJURIES IN UNORGANISED ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES.

ABSTRACT
Background: Lower limb stress pattern & overuse injuries in unorganised athletic activities is increasing commonly because of increasing aspirations & unemployment in lower - middle class youth. We have evaluated various factors contributing to this problem. Material methods: 88 participants were included in this study who were doing unorganised athletic activity & resulting in pain & difficulty in performance. Various factors were analyed. Results: 79.5% males & 20.5% females was the ratio. In 49% mal-alignment was the factor. In remaining other factors contributed. Nearly 80% of the subjects presented with foot & ankle pain. Conclusion: Males are participating more than females in unorganised athletic activities. Foot & ankle pain was predominant. Along with other factors mal-alignment was seen in roughly half of the group.
