A REVIEW ON PHARMACOLOGY AND TRADITIONAL USES OF MIMOSA PUDICA

ABSTRACT
Mimosa pudica (from latin pudica” shy, also called sensitive plant and touch me not), is a creeping annual and pereninial herbs. Species is native to south America and central America. M. Pudica Belongs to the taxonomic group magnoliopsida and family mimoseal. Ayurvedic has declared that is root is bitter, cooling, alexipharmic. It is used in the treatment of leprosy, dysentery and iflamation. All parts of the plant i.e leaves, flower, stem, root and fruits are used as medicines and traditional health care system.
