ABSTRACT

Anaesthesiology is defined by American Society of Anaesthesiologists as "the practice of medicine dedicated to the relief of pain and total care of surgical patients before, during, and after surgery.[1] Anaesthesia covers a large spectrum of highly specialised disciplines: prehospital emergency medicine, per interventional consultation, regional anaesthesia, sedation, general anaesthesia, intensive and intermediate post- operative care and acute and chronic pain.[1]
