A REVIEW ON DRUG UTILIZATION PATTERN OF COMMON SKIN DISEASES IN A DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY

ABSTRACT
The study of skin disease is of greater importance due to the higher prevalence of various skin diseases all over the world. Skin diseases affects all age groups and also of the quality of life of the patients. Due to the increased number of skin diseases, it is important to perform the prescription evaluation of drugs to improve the therapeutic efficacy and to decrease adverse effects associated with drugs. The objective of study was to assess the prescribing pattern of drugs. To promote the rational use of drugs, assessment of prescribing pattern is one of the important tool. In this study, by the analysis of prescribing pattern of drugs it was observed that most of the prescription contains corticosteroids and antibiotics.
